Vitamin E: A Friend For Life

By Patrick & Gael Crystal Flanagan

In our body's relentless quest to fulfill the metabolic needs of its various cells, it must maintain a continuous supply of multiple vitamins. Of all the vitamins, E is one of the most important.

Studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine confirm that vitamin E has many protective properties. Many scientists believe that vitamin E can search out free radicals and neutralize them before they can damage healthy cells. Oxygen-free radicals have a positive charge and are looking for electrons to complete their electrical imbalance. If free electron donors are not available, the free radicals can severely damage healthy cells and alter DNA so that cells cannot repair themselves. Taken internally, vitamin E helps protect cell membranes from oxygen free radicals. When it is rubbed on the skin, it helps to protect against airborne pollutants. Phycotene Creme contains vitamin E for this reason. The most important function of vitamin E is to revitalize oxidized glutathione, which helps to protect the cell membranes against oxidative free radical damage.

Not all free radical fighters are equal. Our bodies need several antioxidants to help prevent free radical damage. Vitamin E works well in conjunction with other vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, zinc, selenium, magnesium, and beta-carotene.

In order for us to absorb vitamin E into our cells, it first must be broken down. When vitamin E is mixed with Flanagan Microcluster colloids - as it is in Patrick & Gael Crystal Flanagan the Light Force product Vitamin E Clusters --the long chain fatty acids which compose the vitamin E are broken down into tiny spherical shapes. The encapsulation of these tiny vitamin E spheres helps to protect the integrity of the vitamin, preventing it from oxidation before it enters the body. The negative electrical charge on these composite particles helps absorption and bio-availability.

Only when the vitamins have crossed the "great intestinal divide" and entered into the body can they function as co-enzyme catalysts essential to all cells. The human liver, which is a kind of "biochemical clearing house," is the principle organ for such chemical integration.

A healthy diet, moderate exercise, ample rest, and intelligent vitamin supplementation can support and reinforce other sound health practices and lead to a more energetic and positive experience of life.
